OA welcomes anyone suffering from eating disorders - including compulsive overeaters, bulimics, and anorexics. Many of us have found recovery here.
Are you a
compulsive overeater?
The OA Preamble:
"Overeaters Anonymous is a Fellowship of individuals
who,
through shared experience, strength and hope, are recovering from
compulsive overeating. We welcome everyone who wants to
stop eating compulsively. There are no dues or fees for
members; we are self supporting through our own contributions, neither
soliciting nor accepting outside donations. OA is
not affiliated with any public or private organization, political
movement, ideology, or religious doctrine, we take no position on
outside issues. Our primary purpose is to abstain from compulsive
overeating and to carry this message of recovery to those who
still suffer."

It is a special meeting where recovery chips are handed out for terms
of abstinence, beginning with 30 days. Those receiving chips are
invited to share briefly about their program. There is a main speaker
with long-term recovery, often from outside Sonoma County, who shares
their experience, strength and hope for 30 to 45 minutes.
This is a bi-monthly, 2nd Saturday,
event and is easy to miss, so mark your calendars with the following
dates!

Service is Carrying the Message!
There are many opportunities to do service in meetings, such
as secretary, treasurer, literature person, speaker getter, or intergroup
rep. Meetings close not just due to lack of attendance, but lack
of those willing to volunteer to do these vital tasks. The next time
a slot is announced, please consider raising your hand and making
this small commitment.
Help Spread the Message!
Print our new 15 Questions flyer
and post it where you feel you can do the most to help our fellow
compulsive overeaters, anorexics, and bulimics who haven't heard
our message of experience, strength, and hope. Once you print
it, please cut along the vertical dotted lines to make it easy for
people to tear of the tabs with our contact information. The flyer
is in PDF (Adobe Acrobat) format. If you do not have the Acrobat
Reader, it is available for free on the net.
Attention Meeting Secretaries and/or
Reps: Please read.
